Dell PowerEdge C5125 microservers

Just the right size
Get everything you need without buying more than you want with the PowerEdge C5125 microserver. This scale-out, highly serviceable, hyper-efficient microserver offers increased density to help save cost, energy, rack space and cabling.

Efficiency never had so much clout
* Cut costs: The PowerEdge C5125 packs up to 12 microservers in a 3U chassis, sharing power and cooling resources, using only a fraction of the cooling fans compared to a stack of 1U servers.
* Save space: With 12 server nodes in a 3U chassis, the PowerEdge C5000 chassis has four times the density of three traditional single-socket 1U servers stacked together, enabling more computer power per U of rack space.
* Simplify servicing: Power supplies, interconnects and servers are all cold-aisle accessible, enabling a hot-aisle containment layout that is designed to promote efficient cooling and a more pleasant working environment in your data center.

Put your microserver to work
Each independent hot-plug server node in the PowerEdge C5125 is mounted on a small sled that slides vertically into the 3U PowerEdge C5000 chassis. 12 such nodes together provide four times the density of three traditional single-node 1U rack servers. The compact system is ideal for:

* Hosting: Help maximize your productivity per square foot with high server-node density and a shared infrastructure that enables efficient cooling and cabling.
* Web 2.0: Fill your need for a Web front-end or a login server with the PowerEdge C5125. Its high-density design is perfect for quickly serving up static Web sites.

Inside the PowerEdge C5125
You can literally see that the PowerEdge C5125 microserver is designed for efficiency. The PowerEdge C5000 3U chassis features an optimized shared infrastructure built for 12 compact AMD-powered C5125 microservers, with all the features you need to get the job done while helping cut costs, save space and simplify servicing.

AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G

A bright and fast, normal 50mm fixed focal length lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.8

TOKYO – Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the release of the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G, a fast, normal 50mm fixed focal length (prime) lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.8 that is compatible with Nikon FX-format digital-SLR cameras.

The AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G offers the pleasing blur characteristics and three-dimensional rendering capabilities possible only with a fixed focal length (prime) lens at a very reasonable price. A new optical design that enables f/1.8 maximum aperture brightness and utilizes an aspherical lens element has been adopted for this lens, which achieves superior rendering performance for excellent image quality even with shooting in dimly lit indoor settings. The built-in Silent Wave Motor (SWM) ensures quiet autofocus operation. What's more, the SWM means that autofocus shooting is also possible when the lens is used with entry-level Nikon DX-format digital-SLR cameras such as the D5100 and D3100, which are not equipped with an autofocus drive motor.

Nikon has long had the support of professional and advanced amateur photographers for its consistent development of innovative products that respond to the demands of users and are equipped with the optical technologies Nikon has spent years cultivating as a manufacturer of optical devices. Nikon intends to continue to expand and strengthen the NIKKOR lineup with the steady release of new, high-performance lenses that offer advanced functions.

AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Primary Features

* A bright and fast, normal 50mm fixed focal length lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.8

Adoption of the 50mm focal length and f/1.8 maximum aperture enables the simple capture of images exhibiting pleasing blur characteristics with hand-held shooting, even in dimly lit indoor settings. This lens is perfectly suited to the spontaneous capture of the intended subject with snapshots and landscape photos. When this lens is used with a Nikon DX-format digital-SLR camera, the effective angle of view is equivalent to that of a lens with a 75-mm focal length.
* A new optical design utilizing an aspherical lens element enables superior rendering performance
* Equipped with a Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for extremely quiet autofocusing
* Equipped with two focus modes, M/A (autofocus with manual override) and M (manual)
* A size and weight that makes it very portable

Sony audio system featured in 2013 Ford Taurus

At the New York International Auto Show last week, Ford Motor Company showcased their new lineup of cars including the brand new 2013 Taurus. Now, if you’ve owned a Ford over the last 10 years, you may not have noticed the fact that your audio system may have been powered by Sony, as the branding was rather subtle. This year however, the Sony/Ford collaboration has stepped it up to a whole new level – we are both “loud and proud” and the finished product really reflects that.

The new Taurus sports a piano-black Sony® in-dash 380 watt amp, 10 speaker, surround sound system to access sources like SIRIUS XM satellite and HD radio, mp3 players or CDs. Check out this interview we did with the Director of Ford Electronics and Electrical Systems Research, Jim Buczkowski.

For any of you who enjoy your Sony Home Audio System, just imagine putting your living room on wheels! Yeah, I like that idea too.

Special for our readers in NYC, we have a treat for all you car enthusiasts. Stop by the Sony Store at 550 Madison Ave., New York, NY during normal business hours between today and May 1 and test out one of our Home Audio Systems, tell the Sony staffer the secret phrase: “I read on the Sony Blog that Sony audio systems rock!” and they’ll give you a pair of tickets to the New York International Auto Show, a $28 value! Offer valid while supplies last. The show ends on May 1st, so check it out!
